Hola friends and family! I'm here! I arrived Wednesday, March 1st. Edgar and I have been crazy busy getting our little apartment together, finalizing the wedding plans, visiting with friends, and preparing for our parents' arrival! Our apartment is chiquito but absolutely perfect for us! It's on the second floor and our front door opens up to a beautiful mountain-view. We took a trip to Hipermas, which is the equivalent to a Wal-mart run in the states, to buy things for the house. It was pretty funny to see some of the cultural and family differences. For example, Edgar had never seen Pledge and never used papertowels. He was kind enough to let me buy them and show him how we use them! We also took a trip to the feria, which is a open food market. Edgar bought several vegetables and fruits that I had never seen or tasted, and DEFINITELY didn't know how to prepare. This week we started my cooking lessons! Praise God Edgar is an excellent cook. However, I have a small wound on my left thumb from my first lesson. Edgar encouraged me afterward that Yuka is the hardest vegetable to cut. I asked him if we could maybe start with something on the beginner's level. Edgar has also began lessons, but his are English. I'm teaching him how to introduce his family. His first exam will be March 16th when my family and best friend arrive. He giggles a lot when he gets nervous, so I can only imagine what he'll do when he meets his in-laws! Prayer Requests: Edgar's parents' Visa - We pray they'll be accepted and able to fly out of Columbia this Friday! Guidance - We have lots of ministry opportunities. Patience and God's grace with all these life changes! Health and Travel Mercies for our families We really need your prayers! You are in our prayers as well!
