Wow! Praise the Lord! He is so faithful!
Well, we´re back from the honeymoon. It was a great time to rest, to talk, to dream, and pray. We saw a lot of the country! Our first night in the Holiday Inn in San Jose was amazing! We both felt like we were in a dream. The room was amazing. It was a corner room and two of the walls were completely glass. It overlooked all of San Jose from the 16th floor! What a wonderful country to serve God in.
We spent two nights in Monte Verde which was WAY up in the mountains. Everything was green. Nothing but mountains. Cool weather. Next we went to Playa Hermosa, which was hot, dry, and nothing but beach. A friend of ours lent us his car which was a tremendous blessing. Another friend gave us 3 nights at the hotel! What a blessing.
We got back last night. I felt anxious coming home. We´re just so excited about what the Lord has for us and there´s that feeling like it´s something big. Now it´s been faithful in prayer and led by God to know where to start and how. We talked to Pastor Benjamin and his wife Adriana. He shared with us his heart for the church. He would like Edgar and I to motivate the church to share the gospel. He asked us to pray about how God would have us go about that. It´s basically discipling evangelists. We had lots of hours in the car to share ideas and get really excited!!! We need a lot of guidance. We want to learn more as well as we work to equip others. We will be meeting with Pastor Benjamin within the next week to discuss more indepth our vision and what God has laid on our hearts.
We talked with Ana and desire to meet with her as well in April. Edgar´s parents leave April 18th, so we´ll be able to take a weekend trip to Guanacaste after that to assess the need and talk about ministry goals and expectations.
EDGE Ministries (out of Lousiville) come in two weeks. At that time we´ll talk more indepth about the possibility of partnering with them and being the mission house ¨parents¨. In the next two weeks, we´ll be looking at possible houses to show EDGE when they come.
Our main prayer request apart from the ministry decisions, is for God´s grace as we all adjust to our new life. When I say US I include Gladys and Orlando, Edgar´s parents. It has been difficult for them as well, being far from their family, in a different country for the first time in their lives, living with their son and his new wife! I can´t tell you how different and foreign EVERYTHING is for me. I expected to slide right back into the culture and the Latin way of life, but it´s definitely been a shock. Everything from cooking, cleaning, washing clothes, traveling, TALKING, every daily chore is totally different. Edgar has been so amazingly patient!!!! I´ve depended on him to teach me everything. It´s pretty humbling as a woman to feel like after 25 years of knowing how to take care of myself and my home, that I know nothing and depend on everyone to help me. I´m sure this is all part of God molding and making me. He keeps bringing to mind, ¨Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say rejoice.¨ In Spanish it says, Ï insist, Rejoice!
Senora y Senor Zuluaga!!!
